Fun with new camera

Hi Everyone!

I finally took the plunge and bought a new camera. I've been wanting one forever so I finally just did it. This is to replace my aging Olympus DSLR. The new camera is a Nikon 7100 DSLR and it does video as well, which is sort of a new feature for DSLRs.

I wasn't really all that interested in the video capabilities, but it actually does pretty well for video so I might use it more often.

Here's a goofy little montage I put together last night. It's pretty rough so don't judge me too harshly.

Playing with Boone

Boone has taken a long time to warm up to Claire, but he is finally treating her more like a member of the family instead of an "invader."

Here's a little video showing how he tries to play with her and get her to tug on his toy.

Jenny Jump Up!

Hello Everyone!

The weather has turned cold and dark.  By the time I get home from work the sun is already setting so it's getting harder to capture good pictures of Claire with natural light.  I'm hoping to rectify that this weekend with a little mini photo shoot.  I haven't done one of those in awhile and she's changing so fast

This is an older video from about a month ago when I first bought Claire the Jenny Jump Up.  I can't believe how different her hair looks!  It's thinned and lightened so much since this video was captured.

I keep inspecting her head and hair so closely to see if it's going to come in curly or straight.  It's nearly impossible to tell at this stage.  I'm hoping for curly or wavy.

Trying Something New

Hello Everyone!

I've been thinking a lot about what would be the best way to share all the wonderful things that are happening in Claire's life.  I send e-mails and picture messages as often as I can and it just seems like I can never keep up with sharing with everyone and I always feel like I'm leaving someone out.

Living so far away from family is so hard and Claire is changing so fast!  Russell and I have been taking videos, but those are also hard to share since file sizes are large.

So, in an effort to have a place where I can share with everyone, I created this private blog for all things Claire.  I'm going to endeavor to post pictures, videos and my thoughts as frequently as possible. Feel free to leave comments too and perhaps someday I can share this special site with Claire.

Let me know how it looks and how things work.  I want this to be an easy place for everyone who loves Claire to be part of her growing up!
